samiya Recipe





Ingredients:

Semiya(Vermicelli)  .. 1 cup
Milk                      ..  3 Cups
Sugar                    ..  half cup
Ghee                     ..  1 table spoon
kaaju and Kismis    ..  6 to 8 nos. each
(Roasted)
Cardomom powder  ..  1 tea spoon


Method:

Heat 1 table spoon ghee in a thick bottomed pan and fry samiya to golden brown.  Keep it aside.


Boil 3 cups of milk in the pan and add the fried semiya to it.


Cook in a medium flame until it thickens and reduces to half.  Add sugar and cook for 2 to 3 min. Switch off the flame. Take it into a bowl and add cardamom powder and garnish with roasted kaju and kismis.

Semiya kheer, (semiya payasam) is ready....... Serve hot or chill.............
